Remember, Remember the whole of November.

It's just like playing Bingo, just with the gigs you went to!

Alright, Okay! My name is Herman, I'm new. I like long walks on the beach and all that shit.

I'll be running through a short recap of November for y'all. Obviously live shows has been a little scarce lately, I'm sure by now we all know why. Lucky you if you don't.

That does not mean all of our favorite artists have been slacking, oh no sir! I'd argue that everyone has been grinding even harder to rescape the mystical realm that is The Local Band Scene in South Africa.

Let's dive into what happened in November!

6 Nov -  Satanic Dagga Orgy, Wolfgang Marrow live at The Irish

When Satanic Dagga Orgy plays, everyone's train is bound for glory especially when they bring friends like Wolfgang Marrow along. This is a combo of Folk and blues based alternative bands and a live entertainment powerhouse.

Friday the 13th - JARR Bar

This year has been a wild ride, so why not poke that bear with a little twig?

It could only be The klubs and Caution Boy to bring fuzzmageddon to Pretoria on Friday 13 2020. If you have been following the ride here at Dystopia you probably know how stoked we are about The klubs' new release (we did a spread on 'em go check it out.)

14 Nov - FUBAR 3 - Rumours Rock City

Some much needed Metal in the West Rand from the annual FUBAR Festival brought State Dependency, Nerve Zero,  Hiraeth, Sunken State, a Nameless dread and Capgras Delusion to stage once more.

14 Nov - GET REKT - Railways Cafe

Now doesn't that just sound like a goddamn treat? After all, alcohol does disinfect. Speaking of treats, Them Dirty Shrikes and Jungle of Mischief were out melting Pretorian faces at one of our favorite local venues.

27 Nov - Rumours Fest - Rumours Rock City

Once again, Rumours Rock City brought headbanging back. I'm sure everyone had a little whiplash after a total shredfest from The Dirty Dabs, 6 Feet apart, No You Hang Up!, Jackson Cult, Hellhollow, Enemy Defleshed.

27 Nov - Music For Plants -  Railways Cafe

See now here we have a great example of why Railways Cafe is one groovy ass venue, they host such variety with the same face-melting energy every time.

For a Friday with Gees, having the vibrant Deon Bakkes & the Stolen Horses in the house is a must! It actually gets better! Bloemfontein giants Wolfgang Marrow were there to follow.

28 Nov - Pablo Honey

Now something beautiful happened here, here's why; The Dystopia fam did some spreading out, then 2020 started spewing out viruses and disasters, but here all of a sudden, all the way in Durban a reunion took place.

MOUSE, Sally and the Bends and Hated Related.

This is the sort of line up that you see and go, 'hmm I kinda wish they would just all start a supergroup together.' Right?

Now we head into the last part of 2020, so here's to hoping it'll bring good things and more live music!  Speaking of hope here's a few things happening in early December that is keeping mine alive.

4 Dec - The Irish

Magical things happen when Yndian Mynah is in Joburg, we are so stoked to see them perform alongside The Tazers.

Check out the event here.

5 Dec - Railways Cafe

A MASSIVE LINE-UP. Absolute master of music Evert Snyman and his band opens up for Double Sun, who are releasing their debut album on the 1st December with The Tazers who also just dropped a pretty dope music video to follow. Definitely not one to miss!

Check out the event here.

That's all, I guess. Stay wicked but most importantly stay safe!
