How to get to Endless Daze

First things first. Let me establish the ground rules for prepping for a festival that you binged recap films about for about an entire 365 days before actually attending it. Take it easy. You know that night before when you cannot simply keep it in and roll around in your bed not catching a minute of sleep because of the bursting excitement that awaits you for the following few days to come. Instead of imagining that scenario replace it by accompanying your fellow festival comrade and go to your nearest bar and get blackout.

The following morning was a bit rough the festival had not even begun and we already polished half a bottle of Jägermeister. Did I mention we went to the bloody wrong airport. HLA = that small yet convenient little airstrip on your way to Krugersdorp was supposed to be our departing airport. I highly recommend getting your departing flight from there it is a nice cozy airport. A lot like those cocktail bars named after a single worded inanimate object

Make sure when and where you are flying from and don't go fear and loathing vibes the day prior to Daze. We knew some contacts in CPT that without any discomfort transported our sorry little "YAH BRUH" Gauteng laaitie asses to Silwerstroom City. We went to Stellies had a few at Bohemia and had been picked up by 2 lovely friend of a friends. Made a quick pickup in Bellville and we were off to Silwerstroom. Mind you it is actually a quick 45 min drive without any traffic from the airport.

It took us 2 hours thanks to beer and some recreational, rather safe, medications.

So you saw the after movies and every existing pixel of media on the Internet about Endless Daze. Your favourite alternative edgy underground band is playing 2019 and people are starting to get irritated about you shoving it down their throats.

As I am writing this in the heat of December I am remembering how hot it was at Daze 2018. Bring shades and a hat. The beachfront with the water is like a magnifying glass for us Valies. Apparently the previous year had a bit of a drizzle. If you make the choice (the best flipping choice you can make for a 2019 festival) be sure you buy a nice early ticket as soon as you are able. The early-bird tickets are just about R600, for 3 days of insane lineups filled with good people and sweet vibes, a steal. Book a cheap flight around the time the festival is happening, even a day before to meet up with some relatives, that you pressure into driving you to Silwerstroom, early in the year to bring your total travel/entrance budget to under R2k.

Now that we have the how to get there down there is a few mention of gear to bring with to make your stay even more Dazey. There are luxury camping units available for a fair price that are equipped for a more than comfortable stay. Rather organize to camp with your friends on the border of the beach. Nobody ever complained to zipping open your tent and having a full swing view at mother natures big old blue watery horizon. Yes, there is sand so prepare for that and a lot of wind, imagine the combo. It is, after all ,weather that is known to happen in the Cape Province. It is like Oppi, just swap the dust with the beach and basically pack for a 3 day similar trip. Just beware they don't drink themselves that silly like us northerners on that mountain every year. I highly recommend Endless Daze as a must for every festival enthusiast. Great music, better scenery, best people.

A big shout out to all the bands and Psych Night for making this festival possible to enlighten and breathe life back into our local scene
